VIVA Mexican Grill - Authentic Mexican Flavors & Warm Hospitality in East Rutherford, NJ

After an exciting day at the American Dream water park, my family and I were craving some tasty Mexican food. So, we did a quick Google search for nearby restaurants and happily stumbled upon Viva! We decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. We started off with a refreshing coconut and passion fruit mocktail, then enjoyed some guacamole and chips as our appetizer. For our main courses, we tried the chicken tacos, grilled shrimp, and steak, and everything was just amazing! We loved it so much that we're definitely planning to come back for more!

Their birria is delicious! Everything we tried was pretty good. This place just opened, has a beautiful interior, and has a nice easy menu. We parked in a lot nearby, but there is also street parking. We were warmly welcomed by our server and started ordering. Since this place is new, there were a couple of slight service issues, like a missing fork, frozen tiramisu, and not being sure of the menu items. Anytime we had a problem, it was fixed immediately. They do not serve alcohol but allow BYOB.

The food and drinks were exceptional and one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever had! The servers were really nice and always smiled. We had a group of nine people and everyone was beyond content with their food and experience. I would drive 1.5 hours back here just to dine in again!

Mexican food with stellar service! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Viva Mexican Grill, with my son and husband; and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! First and foremost, let's talk about the food - absolutely divine! From the perfectly seasoned tacos to the rich and creamy guacamole, every bite was a delight. However, what truly set this dining experience apart was the impeccable service. The staff members were attentive, Scarlet and Danny were friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dining felt welcomed and cared for throughout the meal. From offering recommendations to promptly checking on us, their professionalism and genuine passion for hospitality were evident in every interaction. In conclusion, our experience at Viva Mexican Grill was nothing short of exceptional. Five stars all around - I'll definitely be returning soon!

Randomly found this place and i cant recommend it enough. Everything was amazing and even better the place was spotless and clean. Service from Tommy and Carlos was great! Cant wait to come back

VIVA Mexican grill was everything I wanted it to be; fresh, energetic, clean and authentic. The owners are extremely friendly, the portions are more than well sized, the ambiance is calm but sophisticated and the experience is truly a hidden gem! I had the steak tacos, fresh guac with homemade chips and you could tell everything was made from scratch and love. Highly recommend checking it out! VIVA!

My friends and I were looking for a different restaurant to try and stumbled on this place and we were glad we did! It was delicious! The guacamole tasted so fresh with so much flavor. The hot sauces on the tables were also so good! It’s BYOB, so we ordered non alcoholic margaritas and added our own tequila. The portions were big for the tacos. Definitely a great spot! We definitely will be coming back.

I had an appetizer called Cocteau De Camaron for the first time. It is huge! If I had a party I would order this for my guest. It is basically shrimp in tomato sauce. You really are supposed to spoon the shrimp on the crackers but I ended up just wanting a fork because the spoon is huge, it is really for plating on the cracker. It is a really good dish, glad I tried it. I did add some lime to mines which I think it needed. It is not a spicy dish at all but hot sauce is provided, which I added too. Great wait staff too. What I liked is that they all helped each other out. Really nice interior too. I will definitely visit again.
